Chapter 53

Evelyn stepped into Christopher's car without hesitation, leaving the café behind.

A faint click echoed from a nearby alleyway. A camera lens glinted briefly before disappearing into the shadows.

As Christopher's car pulled away, a sleek orange sports car slid into traffic behind them.

"Follow them."

The driver, Maxwell, shot Benjamin a confused look. "Sir, why are we tailing Mr. Ashford?"

Benjamin smacked Maxwell's head from the passenger seat. "Idiot! It's not him I care about—it's the woman in his car!"

Maxwell paled. "Please don't tell me you're interested in Mr. Ashford's date!"

Another sharp smack landed on Maxwell's head. "Are you blind? That plain girl isn't my type!"

Maxwell rubbed his sore head, privately disagreeing. The woman he'd glimpsed earlier had an ethereal beauty—like a woodland nymph come to life.

Benjamin crossed his arms, his expression darkening. "That's Nathaniel's new wife. The one he married last month."

This revelation only deepened Maxwell's concern. "Sir, this is even worse! You're stalking Mr. Grayson's wife?"

Benjamin barely restrained himself from kicking Maxwell. "Shut up! I'm exposing her true nature! Once Nathaniel sees what kind of woman she really is, he'll finally give Gabrielle a chance!"

Maxwell sighed. "Sir, the issues between the Graysons and the Winslows have nothing to do with—"

"I don't care!" Benjamin snapped. "Gabrielle deserves happiness, and I won't let some scheming woman steal Nathaniel away! Now drive faster before we lose them!"

Frustrated, Benjamin pulled out his phone. He selected the photo of Evelyn entering Christopher's car and sent it to Nathaniel.

Ten minutes passed with no response.

Gritting his teeth, Benjamin dialed another number.

"Abigail? It's Benjamin."

"Benjamin?" Abigail's curious voice came through the line. "What's going on?"

"Your sister-in-law is cheating on Nathaniel," Benjamin announced gravely. "I'm tailing her and her lover right now."

"What?!" Abigail's shriek nearly burst Benjamin's eardrum.

"Evelyn's in another man's car heading god-knows-where. Someone from your family should witness this. Can you come now?"

Abigail's voice turned venomous. "That vile woman! After everything—Grandmother was starting to like her too! I knew she was trouble!"

She launched into a tirade about Evelyn's misdeeds—the toilet incident, the two-faced behavior around Margaret, the attempts to turn Margaret against her...

Benjamin's grip on the phone tightened. "She's a master manipulator. Today, we expose her true colors."

Finally finding a sympathetic ear, Abigail eagerly agreed. "I'll be there! Let me see if I can bring Grandmother too—that'll seal Evelyn's fate!"

"Perfect." Benjamin smirked. "I'll send you the location."

As he hung up, a predatory grin spread across Benjamin's face. 'Evelyn Whitmore, your days as Mrs. Grayson are numbered.'
