Chapter 267

Seraphina shrugged casually. Her obsession wasn't important, and she didn't want Evelyn to worry about her.

She steered the conversation back. "Oh! Sebastian is quite handsome too. Nearly six feet tall, broad shoulders, narrow waist with those sculpted abs. Wouldn't you say he's sexy?"

Evelyn blinked in shock.

Absolutely not!

Sebastian might charm countless women, but to her, he'd always be that same goofy kid from childhood.

Seraphina kept massaging Evelyn's shoulders. "See the difference? You don't find every attractive man appealing unless there's real chemistry."

'Is she implying I have feelings for Nathaniel?' Evelyn wondered.

She wrinkled her nose in distaste. "That's because Sebastian's too pretty-boy for my taste!"

Seraphina nodded. "Fair point. He's not my type either!"

The door swung open suddenly.

Sebastian strolled in lazily. "So you two sent me out for midnight snacks just to trash-talk me?"

Seraphina adjusted her glasses. "We were complimenting your physique. Is that considered slander?"

Sebastian dropped the takeout bags on the coffee table and stripped off his jacket to flex. "Damn right I've got an incredible body. Two hours daily at the gym, premium protein supplements - feel free to verify!"

"Ugh!" Seraphina groaned. "Don't make us lose our appetites!"

Undeterred, Sebastian kept flexing.

Evelyn tapped her chin thoughtfully. "You know, Seraphina might be right. With only one experience, maybe I've got skewed standards. Should sample more to know what I truly like."

She reached out to poke Sebastian's covered abs.

"Well?" He flashed a cocky grin. "Am I irresistible?"

Evelyn recoiled instantly. "You're absolutely right, Seraphina. Touching someone I feel nothing for is... unsettling."

Sebastian's smile froze. "Boss! Was that an insult?"

Seraphina patted his shoulder. "No doubt about it. She definitely insulted you."

"Hmph!" Sebastian crossed his arms. "You wicked women enjoy tormenting me!"

They bantered through their late-night meal before retiring to their rooms.

Sleep eluded Evelyn - perhaps from the heavy supper.

She rose unusually early and baked the promised chestnut cakes, leaving portions for Seraphina and Sebastian before taking the rest with her.

The taxi dropped her at the Grayson estate.

Today, neither Theodore nor any maids greeted her.

Instead, a barefoot girl in silk pajamas answered, rubbing sleep from her eyes. "Who are you?"

Evelyn recognized her instantly from the photo.

Amelia Rivers.
