Chapter 382

The two servants escorting the Blackwoods approached Theodore and whispered, "Mr. Whitmore, are they really Madam's family? Their behavior is so...unlike hers."

"Indeed. They're acting like they own the estate rather than being guests. Earlier, they even demanded to remodel the entire garden! Wanted to chop down the century-old oak and toss out Mr. Richard's prized roses!"

Theodore's brow furrowed at the Blackwoods' audacity. "Enough chatter. Remember your place - they're Madam's relatives. Go prepare coffee and arrange some refreshments immediately. We must show them every courtesy for their first visit."

"Yes, Mr. Whitmore," the maids replied in unison before hurrying to the kitchen.

Cassandra lounged lazily on the plush designer sofa, marveling at its superior comfort compared to their worn furniture at home. Though luxurious, she wrinkled her nose at the traditional decor. "Everything here is so outdated," she complained, surveying the grand hall with disdain. "This place desperately needs modernizing."

Victoria patted her daughter's hand knowingly. "Patience, darling. Once you're mistress of Silver Moon Estate, you can redecorate however you please. Nathaniel will surely indulge your every whim."

Cassandra's cheeks flushed as Nathaniel's striking features flashed through her mind. 'The most breathtaking man I've ever seen. Even without the Grayson fortune, I'd marry him in a heartbeat.' Her expression darkened. 'That Evelyn stole him from me. If she's touched him, I'll make her pay dearly.'

A maid entered with refreshments. Gregory accepted the coffee with an air of sophistication, then grimaced after one sip. "What is this weak brew?"

"This is our finest Blue Mountain blend, sir. I can prepare something stronger if you prefer."

Blue Mountain coffee - the rarest and most expensive variety. Gregory, having never tasted it before, coughed awkwardly. "No need. It's...acceptable. Where is Evelyn? Why is she keeping us waiting?"

The maid remained silent.

Theodore stepped forward smoothly. "Madam is preparing herself, Mr. Blackwood. Please enjoy these refreshments while you wait."

Gregory's face reddened with indignation. "Does she think herself royalty now that she's married into this family? How dare she make us wait!"
