Chapter 151
"Stardust has her reasons, and I'm not at liberty to disclose them," Seraphina stated firmly.
Nathaniel let out a cold chuckle. "Seems Newmoon Group isn't serious about partnering with Grayson Enterprises on this project. No matter."
He set down his coffee cup with deliberate force and rose from his seat.
Inside the lounge, Evelyn heard every word. Nathaniel's displeasure was palpable, and she knew his patience had limits.
If he walked out now, they'd lose the $150 million deal.
Panicking, Evelyn spotted a pile of equipment in the corner - Sebastian's purchases. Among them, something resembling a gas mask caught her eye.
"Mister Grayson, please wait!"
Nathaniel paused at the office door, turning slowly. His striking eyes narrowed when they landed on the figure emerging from the lounge.
Seraphina turned and gasped. "Why is our CEO dressed like—"
Evelyn had changed into Seraphina's clothes and now wore the gas mask. She approached Nathaniel, pitching her voice higher. "You wanted to meet me, didn't you? I'm Stardust."
Nathaniel's brow furrowed as he studied her.
Lucas gaped. 'Is Stardust implying Mister Grayson is toxic?'
"My apologies," Evelyn explained quickly. "I'm suffering severe skin allergies - my face is covered in rashes. This mask prevents me from offending your eyes. That's why Miss Montgomery said I couldn't meet clients. I hope this doesn't interfere with our discussion."
Nathaniel gave a curt nod. "Your fashion choices don't concern me."
Evelyn bowed slightly. "Thank you for understanding, Mister Grayson."
Seraphina stepped forward smoothly. "Now that Stardust has joined us, perhaps you'd reconsider staying? Clearly there's been a misunderstanding. Let us demonstrate our sincerity."
Nathaniel resumed his seat, with Evelyn positioned between him and Seraphina.
He cut straight to business. "Miss Stardust, I'm curious about your inspiration for the Celestial Tower."
The tower appeared crescent-shaped due to its innovative glass facade, though structurally circular. Its unique design left lasting impressions on all who saw it.
"The moon inspires me," Evelyn explained. "The new moon represents beginnings, the future - much like your company's vision."
As she spoke passionately, Nathaniel studied her with growing interest. When she finished, he tilted his head. "Have we met before, Miss Stardust?"
Evelyn's pulse jumped. "Certainly not. I'd remember meeting someone as distinguished as yourself."
Nathaniel's intense gaze through the mask made her nervous. She quickly changed subjects. "What are your thoughts on the new headquarters' design?"
"I won't constrain your creativity," he said, "but keep it practical."
Evelyn nodded. "Thank you for your trust. I look forward to a successful partnership."
As Nathaniel checked his watch and stood to leave, Evelyn exhaled in relief.
Seraphina moved to escort him out, but upon opening the door, found Cassandra mid-knock.
Cassandra's face lit up. "Mister Grayson! What a surprise!"
Nathaniel's first instinct was to scan for Evelyn behind her. Finding no trace, his voice turned icy. "Why are you here?"
"Newmoon Group asked me to endorse their new product," Cassandra explained sweetly. "Miss Montgomery was briefing my assistant, so I came to collect her."
Nathaniel's eyes sharpened. 'Evelyn's here?'
