Chapter 256

Silver Moon Estate

Sophia Bennett practically threw her car keys at the valet, eager to capture Evelyn Whitmore on camera.

“Aren’t you supposed to be filming your own vlog?” Evelyn sighed, exasperated.

“Why are you so obsessed with recording me instead?”

Sophia grinned. “Because you’re stunning, and I can’t help it!”

She wanted to film the exact moment Evelyn stepped out of the car and saw Nathaniel Grayson. The confession scene would be legendary—perfect for her social media. She could already imagine the envy.

Evelyn rolled her eyes and rubbed her temples, ignoring Sophia as she strode into the estate alone.

The entrance was framed by an arch adorned with moonstones. A fragrant breeze greeted her as she passed through.

Then, she froze.

The sight before her stole her breath.

Silver Moon Estate transformed with every visit.

This time, it was a sea of pink tulips—thousands of them, swaying under the golden sunset.

“Evelyn, why’d you stop?” Sophia caught up, gasping. “Oh my god! This is breathtaking!”

Nathaniel knew how to make an impression.

Any woman would be enchanted.

Evelyn blinked, snapping out of her daze.

Tulips weren’t in season. These had to be greenhouse-grown, transplanted carefully to avoid damage.

A narrow path cut through the flowers.

Evelyn stepped onto it, letting the blooms swallow her.

Sophia filmed frantically, barely containing her excitement for the grand finale.

Evelyn wasn’t stupid.

The empty estate, the flowers, the setup—this was for her.

At the end of the path stood Nathaniel.

His back was turned, his tailored suit accentuating his broad shoulders.

Hearing footsteps, he turned slowly.

Their eyes locked.

Evelyn’s pulse stuttered.

Too much coffee, she told herself.

Nathaniel’s lips curved. “You’re here.”

She nodded dumbly. “Yeah.”

Then she noticed it—a massive pink gift box between them, tied with an extravagant ribbon.

A present? For her?

Her stomach dropped.

She’d bought him a seven-dollar T-shirt.

Nathaniel stepped closer, his gaze softening.

Evelyn’s heart hammered.

He’s going to confess.

Her mind spun. What was she supposed to say?

Suddenly, the box burst open.
