Chapter 341

Evelyn's blood boiled. "How dare you act so high and mighty at a time like this, Cassandra? No wonder the entire internet is calling you disgraceful. You absolutely deserve it!"

"I deserve it? Then what does that make you, since you got dragged into this mess too?"

"You—"

Victoria couldn't take it anymore. She snatched the phone from her daughter and glared into the camera. "When did you become so vile? You ruined Cassandra's career! Vincent was going to mentor her—she was destined to be the next leading actress under his guidance! But you had to interfere and destroy that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

"And then you spread those disgusting rumors, claiming she wasn't Gregory's daughter! You nearly tore this family apart! Thank God Gregory gave us another chance and did a second DNA test to prove Cassandra is his child! All you’ve done is stir up chaos!"

"Now you're scamming people and dragging our family name through the mud! What kind of monster are you, Evelyn?"

Evelyn smirked. "Scams? Weren’t you the ones who built your entire lives on lies? Didn’t you manipulate Vincent into backing Cassandra with deceit? The only reason you failed is because the truth came out. How is that my fault? And honestly, I could never lie as effortlessly as you two. That’s your special talent."

Victoria’s face twisted with fury. "W-What did you just say?!"

Since when did Evelyn become so sharp-tongued? She’s always been so careful around Gregory!

Cassandra snatched the phone back, her voice shrill with rage. "How dare you insult my mother, Evelyn! Who do you think you are?! Apologize right now, or I swear—"

Evelyn’s temples throbbed from Cassandra’s screeching. She rubbed her ear and tapped the red button, ending the call.

The phone buzzed again—another call. She ignored it.

She didn’t have time for the Blackwoods’ tantrums. There was work to do.

Evelyn opened her group chat with Sebastian and Seraphina.

[Sebastian, handle those wreaths sent to the Blackwoods. And find a way to stop the internet trolls from harassing them with creepy deliveries.]

No response from Sebastian. Instead, Seraphina replied.

[He’s already investigating that Charlotte Bennett situation you asked about earlier.]

Evelyn pinched the bridge of her nose. She’d forgotten about that in the heat of the argument.

[Send someone else to deal with it, Seraphina.]

[Already on it. I’ll have every florist and funeral service in the city blacklisted from accepting orders for the Blackwoods.]

[Good.]

Seraphina went offline to handle it.

Evelyn turned her attention to the internet scandal. She launched a specialized program hidden in an encrypted folder, typing in a lengthy passcode to access the deepest layers of the web—places ordinary users could never reach.
