Chapter 150

Evelyn's heart raced as she leaped off the chair. "Sebastian, go distract him. I'll slip out when I get the chance."

"Don't let him see me here!"

"On it!" Sebastian's playful grin vanished instantly as he strode out to handle the situation.

Evelyn crept to the doorway, peering through the narrow gap to assess the danger.

Nathaniel stepped out of the elevator with Lucas following closely behind.

Sebastian greeted them with practiced professionalism. "Welcome, Mr. Grayson."

Nathaniel gave a curt nod. "Thank you."

With a smooth gesture, Sebastian turned sideways. "Ms. Montgomery mentioned your interest in our building's architecture. Would you like a tour of our interior designs?"

Nathaniel raised a dismissive hand. "Unnecessary. I've already surveyed several floors. I'm here to meet Ms. Montgomery and your lead architect, Stardust."

"My apologies, but Ms. Montgomery is currently in a meeting," Sebastian said smoothly. "It may take some time. Perhaps you'd enjoy our rooftop? The view overlooks the entire city."

"No need." Nathaniel's expression remained impassive. "I'll wait in the reception area."

Sebastian's attempts to redirect him proved futile. Pushing further would only raise suspicion.

Defeated, he glanced toward the office before gesturing politely. "This way, please."

Evelyn bit her lip as Sebastian led Nathaniel toward the reception room. She was trapped.

The glass-walled reception area sat between Seraphina's office and the only exits. Any movement would risk exposure.

Seraphina whispered urgently, "Hide in the private lounge. He seems pressed for time—he won't stay long."

"Only choice I've got." Evelyn grabbed two snack packs from Sebastian's gift and ducked into the concealed lounge.

Once hidden, Seraphina instructed her secretary to escort Nathaniel into her office.

"Mr. Grayson, please have a seat." Seraphina's smile never wavered as coffee was served.

After brief pleasantries, Nathaniel's gaze swept the room. "Ms. Montgomery, where might I find your principal architect?"

"Stardust isn't in today," Seraphina replied smoothly. "But I'd be happy to relay your specifications. We'll deliver preliminary drafts promptly."

Nathaniel lifted his cup, eyebrow arching. "For my investment, I expected direct collaboration with the architect."

"Of course," Seraphina adjusted her glasses. "But she's genuinely unavailable today."

"Is that so?" Nathaniel's eyes narrowed. "Your reception staff claimed she arrived this morning. Said it was a rare occurrence."

Seraphina's smile faltered for a split second. Damn the gossiping staff.

Though Evelyn founded Newmoon Group, employees only knew her as contracted architect Stardust. The receptionists must have spotted her arrival with Cassandra.

"Since you're aware," Seraphina conceded, "I can't deny it. Stardust is here, but occupied with urgent matters. I apologize."

Nathaniel's voice turned glacial. "Explain."
