Chapter 292

Gabrielle's blood boiled when she heard the officer's defeated tone. Having witnessed Evelyn's schemes firsthand, she exploded in rage. "That witch isn't just vile—she's a master manipulator!"

Her fury grew with each passing second.

"Gabrielle, don't be hasty. What if she's innocent?" Benjamin's calm voice cut through her anger.

Gabrielle gaped at him. "Are you hearing yourself, Benjamin?"

Benjamin nodded gratefully.

Gabrielle nearly tore her hair out. Why weren't they panicking? Their naivety would be their downfall. She'd sooner die than let Evelyn escape justice. "Officer, do you have enough evidence or not?"

The officer shook his head. "Not yet. We'd need surveillance footage or photos of Evelyn meeting the perpetrator. But criminals rarely meet in public spaces with cameras. Such evidence is nearly impossible to obtain."

Gabrielle's frustration mounted. She wanted Evelyn behind bars immediately.

Nathaniel's icy voice cut through the tension. "Remove her handcuffs. Now."

The officer paled, beads of sweat forming on his brow. "Mister Nathaniel, I..."
