Chapter 149
"Holden Group reached out to us first. Their president, Mister Nathaniel—the one you know—was impressed with our office building design. He specifically requested the architect behind this structure to design Holden Group's new headquarters. And we all know who that architect is, right? Stardust?"
Evelyn's brows knitted together. Stardust—the alias she used for professional projects.
Without hesitation, she shut it down. "No. Not happening."
Sebastian leaned forward, eyes gleaming. "Boss, they're offering a lot of money." He held up his fingers—one and five.
A hundred and fifty million dollars?! Evelyn nearly spat out her coffee. Nathaniel doesn’t hold back, does he?
Newmoon Group was still in its growth phase, barely three years old. While their market value soared, liquid cash remained tight.
A hundred and fifty million... That number was impossible to ignore.
Sebastian and Seraphina exchanged knowing glances. Their boss was tempted.
Sebastian pressed his advantage. "It's your call, of course. We haven't even discussed contract specifics yet."
After a long pause, Evelyn exhaled. "Fine. I'll take it."
Only a fool would turn down that kind of money.
Sebastian grinned. "Perfect. Mister Nathaniel is coming over later. You two can hash out the details face-to-face."
Evelyn, mid-sip, nearly choked again. She whipped her head toward him. "What? Who's coming?"
Sebastian smirked. "Your husband, Boss."
Seraphina elbowed him aside and clarified, "He requested a tour of our building today. Said he wanted to meet the architect—Stardust."
Evelyn's expression darkened. "He can tour the damn building all he wants. But I'm not meeting him."
Seraphina nodded. "Understood."
Sebastian, ever the meddler, tilted his head. "Why not? If he finds out his wife designed this place, he might actually start respecting you. Hell, he might even fall for you."
Evelyn shot him a withering glare. "We're done in three months. That goes for all of you too. No personal interactions with him. And never let him connect me—or any of you—to Newmoon Group."
Sebastian pouted. "That's harsh. What if you two actually—"
"No." Evelyn cut him off sharply.
She turned to Seraphina. "When is he arriving?"
Seraphina checked her watch. "Now, actually. He should be here any minute."
Right on cue, the secretary knocked. "Miss Seraphina, Mister Sebastian. Mister Nathaniel Grayson from Holden Group is here."
