Chapter 432

Evelyn's pulse quickened at the sight of Nathaniel's broad shoulders. 'He appeared right when I needed him most. This can't be coincidence.'

She moved toward him, rehearsing how to share her pregnancy news. Sebastian started after her, but Seraphina caught his arm.

"Don't interrupt," Seraphina murmured, adjusting her designer glasses.

Sebastian rolled his eyes. "Just making sure our boss doesn't trip over her own feet."

"She's more graceful than you give her credit for," Seraphina countered.

They watched with bated breath as Evelyn approached Nathaniel.

"Nathan—"

Before she could finish, a curly-haired toddler wobbled from the pediatric clinic and clung to Nathaniel's leg. "Dada!"

Evelyn froze mid-step.

Nathaniel scooped up the giggling child effortlessly. "Where's your mother?"

Evelyn recognized his voice instantly—that rich baritone couldn't belong to anyone else.

Amelia emerged moments later, smoothing her silk blouse. "The doctor says it's just a cold. I'll get his medicine." She handed Nathaniel a prescription slip before striding toward the pharmacy.

Evelyn observed how naturally Nathaniel cradled the child. Sebastian and Seraphina exchanged alarmed glances before rushing to her side.

Sebastian hissed, "I thought he was single before meeting you!"

"Single doesn't mean celibate," Seraphina snapped, eyeing Evelyn's pale face.

Evelyn remained statue-still, then dialed Nathaniel's number with steady fingers.

He answered on the second ring, toddler balanced on one hip. "Miss me already?" His teasing tone sent shivers down her spine.

Watching from ten feet away, Evelyn whispered, "More than you know."

Nathaniel's grip tightened on the phone. Her uncharacteristic admission startled him.
