Chapter 0050

“You know how much I enjoy provoking your sister. She never changes. I’m sure it infuriates Gabriel.”

She had no idea. She wasn’t there to learn that Isabella and Gabriel were over.

“She’s content.” I lie.

Genevieve stays silent. She’s staring up at the house. I glance over my shoulder. Athena stands on the doorstep. Isabella and Sebastian flank her.

“Is that her?” Genevieve whispers.

“Yes.”

She grabs my upper arm. “She’s not much to look at, is she!”

“Release me.”

“Do you think she can defeat me?” She wonders aloud.

That wasn’t my concern. I could feel Athena’s jealousy from here. If she shifts, I can’t stop it. Isabella and Sebastian can’t stop it. None of us know what Athena is truly capable of.

I seize Genevieve’s hand, bending it back toward her wrist. She whimpers in pain as her arm twists.

“Leave my sight!” I snarl.

“I’m going. I’m going.” She glares toward Athena before stomping off, cradling her arm.

My eyes lock with Athena’s as I approach the house.

“Is she leaving?” Isabella asks.

“No.” I mutter without turning. “She’s decided to stay.”

Athena doesn’t react. She stands completely still, her gaze fixed on mine. She didn’t seem angry, just confused by the jealousy she felt.

“You’re allowing her to stay?” Isabella challenges me. “After everything she’s done. She’s insane.”

“Yes, I agree her choices have been poor. But none of us are entirely innocent. Well, almost none. If she tries anything, she’s gone. I warned her.”

Still, Athena says nothing.

Isabella brushes past me. “I hope you know what you’re doing, Alexander. Don’t let her destroy this.”

“Go inside.” I tell Athena. “I need to speak with Sebastian.”

Athena’s blue eyes shift to my Beta before returning to me. She nods slowly and retreats into the house.

“How much did Isabella tell her?”

“Everything.” Sebastian murmurs. “Once she started talking, she couldn’t stop.”

“And what did Athena say?”

“That’s just it. She didn’t say anything.”

“Nothing?”

“Her last question was whether Genevieve came here to kill her. That’s when Isabella told her everything.”

“Any sign of her shifting?”

“No. I watched her closely.”

I find Athena sitting in the kitchen. Her legs are tucked beneath her as she studies a half-empty juice bottle.

She doesn’t react or acknowledge me as I sit opposite. Her mind was clouded, scolding herself.

“You’ve never felt jealousy before.”

I tell her. “It feels strange, right? Having this urge to attack someone?”

She stops spinning the bottle. Her blue eyes flash up at me. “Why?”

“Because of that.” I point to the mark on her neck. “It will make you feel many things you’ve likely never experienced. Sebastian told me Isabella explained everything about Genevieve.”

“She told me… a lot.” She stutters, a small crease forming on her forehead. “She’s… very beautiful.”

She is furious. Titan mutters.

“She’s not you.” I tell her.

“Did you… did you tell her about me?”

“I told her I claimed you. I told her you’re my true mate.”

She frowns at me. “There’s something I don’t understand. Isabella didn’t say.”

“You want to know why I let her live.”
