Chapter 0212
Seraphina
He was a complete bastard.
He never told me she could control her shift.
He never mentioned she’d been bound multiple times.
I watched thick claws push out from her fingertips.
Her eyes shifted from soft blue to solid black.
I’d never seen anything like it.
How was I supposed to handle this without all the facts?
These cheap clothes didn’t help.
The fabric scratched my skin raw.
I was supposed to play innocent.
Mentioning her pups ruined that.
Too eager. I had to reset.
I stepped back and raised my hands.
“I’m sorry.” The word burned like acid.
I never apologize.
“Talking about what he did… it sets me off.” Not a lie.
Our father’s actions enraged me beyond anything.
I wanted to fix his mistakes.
“Leave!” Alexander ordered.
He held my half-sister tightly.
“I’m going… I’m going.” I reached into the awful jeans.
I pulled out a small card.
Tossed it between us.
“If you want answers, meet me here.”
I turned away.
This wasn’t part of the plan.
But seeing her made my resentment boil.
It took everything to keep it buried.
To hide what I felt.
Alexander sent someone to follow me out.
He kept his distance. Didn’t speak.
His long dark hair blew in the wind.
I hate men with long hair.
I didn’t look back after the gates.
That would seem confrontational.
Right now, they needed to be the villains.
A mile down the road, Julian leaned against my Porsche.
He looked powerful in a black suit.
So much more in control than when we first met.
“That was fast.” He straightened up.
“You left out a lot of details.” I stopped in front of him.
He avoided my eyes. Eyes I’d grown to love.
“I need to know everything if we’re doing this.”
“The plan was to get to know her.”
“You should’ve told me everything.”
“Would it have changed anything?”
I pressed my lips tight.
“How is she alive after being bound?” I snapped.
“I don’t know,” he muttered. “We know of four times.”
“Four? No one survives that twice.”
That bitch is stronger than I thought.
“And she controls her shift?”
“She shifted?” He sounded surprised.
“She started to.”
He nodded, sucking in his cheeks.
I grabbed his face, forcing him to look at me.
He may control things in the bedroom.
But when it comes to my life, I call the shots.
“I have Aspen,” he mumbled.
“Wolf Alpha blood.” I released him.
He rubbed his cheeks. “Same for her. She has a Lycan spirit. Nyx.”
“Are you serious? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t know it mattered.”
“Everything matters! Do you want this to fail?”
He always said this is what he wanted.
But in my experience, secrets mean doubt.
“No.”
“Then tell me everything. Every detail. Get in the car.”
I drove to the new apartment.
It’s farther from the city but closer to Obsidian Howl.
“You got in okay,” he said as we hit the main road.
“You were right about one thing.” I kept my eyes ahead.
“They thought I was her. But I’m never wearing these again.”
Athena needed to get her act together.
“What did you think?” he asked softly.
“Of Athena? Our father’s genes are strong.” That’s all I shared.
My mind raced through next steps.
“Inside.” I pulled under the porch.
He rolled his eyes before getting out.
I sat alone for a few minutes.
Why did Alexander stop her shift?
He held her, whispering as she stared at me.
