Chapter 0199
“Or what?” He laughs darkly.
“You won’t be my first kill tonight. What’s your name?”
“Julian.” He answers without hesitation. Definitely his real name.
“Your brother’s pack?”
“Obsidian Howl.”
A cold laugh escapes me. “So Alexander is your brother.”
Disappointment flashes across his dirty face. “You know him?”
“I know of him. Only a fool wouldn’t know his reputation.” And I had made sure to stay far away from him. It wasn’t like I advertised what I was. “You’re telling me he’s mated to the last female Lycan Alpha.”
He nods. He just made my entire fucking week. Maybe my year.
“What are you to her?” He asks softly.
“Why does that matter?” I study him a moment longer. “Are you ready to do whatever I ask?”
He nods.
“It will tear your pack apart.”
His mouth opens and closes like a fish. He’s finally understanding what I mean.
“What is it?”
“My twin. I don’t want to hurt her, but she’s also mated to a Lycan. The bastard who killed my mate hurt her too.”
I lean back against the ugly pink tiles. “Then you have a choice to make. Either way, you’ve already given me what I need.”
“This is wrong. I shouldn’t… I shouldn’t be here. I shouldn’t have said anything.” He tries to push past me. I lift my leg, blocking the door with my foot. His eyes linger on it too long.
“You should’ve thought of that earlier. You clearly know who I am.”
“It wasn’t easy to find someone like you. I thought there were no more of your kind left. Just Athena and the ones who were turned.”
Hearing her name sends a sharp thrill through me. Does she even know I exist? I don’t care. I’m taking what’s mine.
“Oh honey, there are thousands of us. You just need to know where to look.”
“Thousands?” His dark eyes go wide.
“Thousands.”
He looks like he just stepped in shit.
“Packs?”
“No. Where’s the fun in that?” I look him over. “Come with me. We have a lot to discuss.”
I lead him to my Porsche. I watch him carefully before letting him sit on the clean leather.
“How long have you known Athena?” I’m curious. How long has she been happy with her mate?
“Almost a year. I don’t want her to suffer.” He mutters. “She’s been through enough. And she’s pregnant.”
Perfect.
“Julian, you came to the wrong person if you just want to scare them. I don’t do half-measures. And now you’ve handed me my target. Besides, if we go after Alexander, she will get hurt.”
I reach over and grip his thigh. Maybe he deserves a reward for this.
“Did you know Dominic?” He asks as I pull into my driveway.
“Doesn’t ring a bell. Another problem?”
“No. Athena handled that.” I know what he’s doing. He’s trying to figure out my connection.
I send him to shower. I don’t want his stench in my house. When he comes back, he’s wearing the smallest towel. It barely covers him. He looks much better clean.
“Do you have anything bigger?” He asks. Water drips from his hair onto the carpet. I watch one droplet trail down his chest and abs, vanishing into the towel.
It isn’t right. I know. But it’ll have to do.
It’s been too long since I’ve had a good time. This wasn’t the plan, but I can’t help imagining him pressed against me.
He smirks at me. Then he turns around and walks away, giving me a full view of his firm ass.
