Adrian Sinclair closed his laptop.
He stood and placed it on the sofa.
“That won’t be necessary.”
“Come have dinner with me now.”
Anna Ross was indeed hungry.
She didn’t protest.
She followed quietly behind him.
The hallway was wide and silent.
She had been too rushed to notice earlier.
Now she saw the hotel was designed in classic Western European style.
Every detail spoke of refined luxury.
A black luxury car waited downstairs.
Adrian opened the car door for her.
“Get in.”
Anna paused slightly.
He had done this before.

“If you don’t get in,”
“do you plan to let me starve while waiting?”
Anna quickly slipped into the car.

He walked around to the driver’s seat and started the engine.

“You’re not answering your phone.”
“No one’s home.”
“I couldn’t find you at the office either.”
“I’ve been worried sick.”
Lucas’s voice was urgent.

“Lucas, I’m fine.”
“Tell me where you are.”
