Chapter 18

Adrian Sinclair gave Anna Ross a brief, indifferent glance.

He accepted the soup bowl Chloe Valentine handed him, but merely set it down on the table.

Chloe’s heart tightened.

She needed to secure this man, and quickly.

“Since you’re here to serve, be more observant,” Adrian said suddenly, looking at Anna. “Come here and serve the food.”

Anna’s fingers trembled slightly.

She wanted to refuse.

But his icy stare froze her in place.

Silently, she picked up the serving utensils.

“Which dish would you like?”

Chloe nearly gritted her teeth to dust.

He wouldn’t even touch the food she had just served him.

Now he was asking another woman to do it.

“Whatever,” Adrian replied lazily, leaning back in his chair.

His eyes, however, remained fixed on her movements.

Anna picked up a piece of fish with the serving fork.

Just as she was about to place it in his bowl, he moved his hand away.

The fish fell directly onto his polished leather shoe.

“Clean it up,” Adrian’s voice turned cold.

Anna looked up. “You moved on purpose.”

“I said, clean it up.” His tone was terrifyingly dark.

Even Chloe shrank back slightly.

Anna’s eyes instantly welled with tears.

She reached for a napkin.

He pushed her hand away sharply.

“Use your hand.”

“Adrian!” Tears spilled from Anna’s eyes.

He only repeated coldly, “Hurry up.”

She took a deep breath.

If he was determined to humiliate her,

then so be it.

She slowly knelt down.

Her hand shook as she reached out.

Tears fell onto the carpet.

Adrian watched her humble的姿态.

A storm raged in his eyes.

He suddenly pulled his foot back.

“Get away.”

He ultimately didn’t let her touch the shoe.

Anna silently stood up and retreated to a corner.

Her face was now a mask of calm.

Chloe shot her a contemptuous glance.

。。。。。。

“Adrian, take me home.”

After dinner, Chloe linked her arm with Adrian’s.

Her eyes were full of expectation.

Adrian withdrew his arm.

He called his driver.

“Someone will take you home.”

Chloe’s lips pressed together in disappointment.

But she quickly smiled again. “I’ll message you when I get home.”

She couldn’t appear too eager.

Adrian gave a slight nod.

Soon, they were the only two left.

Anna’s heart pounded like a drum.

She needed to leave immediately.

“I’m heading back now.”

She kept her head down and turned to go.

Adrian let out a soft laugh. “I’ll take you.”

Anna shook her head hurriedly. “I’ll get a cab.”

She frantically pulled out her phone.

Her fingertips were trembling.
