Chapter 464
Sebastian was relentless, and Alexander could practically see the gears turning in his head. He didn’t bother addressing it.
Instead, he turned to Harrison. "Drive."
The moment the engine roared to life, Sebastian caught on. He barely managed to shut the door before the car pulled away.
Opportunities like this didn’t come often. Without hesitation, Sebastian abandoned his own car in the underground parking lot.
This was his chance. He needed to choose his words carefully—too direct, and Alexander would shut him down before he even got an answer.
But before he could even form a coherent thought, Alexander spoke first.
"Did Cassandra send you?"
Sebastian’s jaw nearly hit the floor. How the hell—?
"You’re not subtle," Alexander said dryly, not even glancing his way. "It’s written all over your face."
Sebastian swallowed hard. Okay, so he can’t actually read minds. But how did he—?
"I know why you’re here," Alexander continued, his tone sharper now. "So let’s skip the pointless questions."
Sebastian stiffened. This isn’t how this was supposed to go. He’s terrifying. I haven’t even said anything yet!
"W-Well…" Sebastian stammered, blinking rapidly as if that would somehow reset the conversation. "Is it true?"
If Alexander already knew what he was going to ask, then—
"Yes," Alexander said flatly. Then, after a beat, "And no."
Sebastian’s brain short-circuited. What kind of answer is that?
"I’m not engaged," Alexander clarified. "I’m married."
The words hit Sebastian like a freight train.
Holy sh—
His mind raced. Who the hell would Alexander Kensington marry? Unless—no. No way. He can’t be serious.
Sebastian couldn’t help himself. "Who is she?"
Alexander turned his head slowly, fixing him with an unreadable stare. The silence stretched, thick and suffocating.
Sebastian’s throat went dry.
"You… can’t tell me?" he ventured weakly, gulping.
