Chapter 475
The reunion day came faster than expected. The venue was set near the picturesque Seabreeze Villa. Vivian didn't make a big fuss about it, sticking to her usual routine. She spent the morning on the film set and returned home by noon. With Adrian buried in work, she had lunch with their live-in housekeeper.
"Mrs. Blackwood," the housekeeper murmured hesitantly, "you've missed your vitamins for several days now. Shall I bring them earlier today?"
Vivian's cheeks flushed pink as she realized the housekeeper might have overheard her and Adrian's nightly activities. "I'll skip them for now," she replied, touching her stomach. "I've been feeling a bit queasy lately. They're just supplements anyway - no rush."
"Very well," the housekeeper nodded, relief evident in her expression. Glancing at Vivian's glowing complexion, she thought privately, "With how often Mr. Blackwood keeps her company, she probably doesn't need any supplements."
After lunch, Vivian retreated to the bedroom and immediately fell asleep. When Audrey's call came through, she was deep in dreamland.
Answering with sleep-heavy voice, she heard Audrey's teasing tone. "Darling, how can you nap when there's a major event tonight?"
Yawning and stretching, Vivian rubbed her eyes. "I've been exhausted lately. I meant to review my script but fell asleep the moment I lay down."
As she spoke, something felt off. Despite having a lighter schedule recently, her fatigue seemed worse than usual.
Before she could dwell on it, Audrey sighed dramatically. "Tell me about it. Ever since Dominic came into my life, I'm constantly worn out. My back aches nonstop."
Vivian shook her head, pushing away her thoughts. It was true - keeping up with Adrian's boundless energy was more tiring than any work commitment.
Ending the call, Vivian moved to her walk-in closet without enthusiasm. Her eyes skimmed over the lavish gowns, feeling they might be too extravagant for a simple class reunion.
A song began playing on her phone - "Purple looks divine on you" - and her gaze landed on an amethyst dress. This happy coincidence, where external cues influenced decisions, made her smile.
She chose the fitted purple dress with delicate pleats at the waist that accentuated her curves. The knee-length hemline struck the perfect balance between elegance and allure.
From her jewelry collection, she selected a double-strand pearl necklace, the premium Akoya pearls glowing with soft luster.
After dressing, she texted Adrian to meet her at the Harbor Grand Hotel after work. Standing by the door in heels, she debated between calling a driver or taking a taxi when Julian appeared at the garden gate.
"Vivian," Julian called through the ornate iron bars. "Going somewhere special?"
Opening the gate, she smiled. "Just a dinner event. What brings you here, Julian?"
