Chapter 450

Adrian glanced down at her bare feet. "How do you plan to walk like that?"

Before she could respond, his voice turned icy as he addressed the caller. "Mr. Vaughn, aren't you crossing a line? Is it really appropriate to speak so casually to another man's wife?"

Damien didn’t back down, his tone sharpening. "Mr. Blackwood, it was your assistant who reached out to me earlier about Vivian. Don’t you know Vivian is Katrina? Seems you’re not fully aware of your wife’s talents."

Adrian froze, his gaze snapping toward Vivian.

On the other end, Damien smirked, satisfied at the tension he’d stirred.

Vivian, uncomfortable under Adrian’s scrutiny, quickly interjected, "Ignore him, Mr. Vaughn. Was this about Katrina?"

Damien’s voice turned serious. "Yes, it’s urgent. You need to access Katrina’s account and make a verification post. I’ll also update your real identity on the company’s official profile."

Still cradled in Adrian’s arms, Vivian continued the conversation, only to feel his fingers lightly tap her hip in playful reprimand.

Once the call ended, Vivian hung up.

Adrian carried her into the living room, settling her onto the couch while keeping her close. His eyes searched hers. "So, Damien knows you’re Katrina. Dominic knows too. Seems like everyone knew except me?"

Shifting slightly, Vivian bit her lip. "It’s not exactly common knowledge. I’ve kept it quiet."

Adrian studied her, his expression softening despite the revelation. He pinched her cheek affectionately. "No more secrets, understood?"

Vivian pouted. "I told you about my scriptwriting when I started. You didn’t seem interested, so I dropped it."

"It wasn’t a secret. You just assumed I wasn’t paying attention."

Wrapped in the blanket, she looked like a petulant child.

Adrian chuckled. "So now this is my fault?"

Vivian nodded firmly. "Exactly. As long as you admit it."

He reached for a cigarette, then reconsidered, taking her hand instead. "You never let anything go, do you?"

She tilted her chin up. "Why should I? I stand my ground, right or wrong. But when I’m right, I don’t back down."

Their banter was interrupted by Adrian’s phone ringing again.

Expecting Dominic, he nearly ignored it—until Serena’s name flashed on the screen.

Adrian and Vivian exchanged a glance. They both knew this call was about the plagiarism scandal.

He hesitated, watching her instead of answering.
