Chapter 375
Adrian answered evenly, "He came to inform me about the verdict regarding the woman who threatened you the other day."
Audrey, who usually preferred staying in the background, couldn't help interrupting, "Has the court already decided? What's the punishment?"
Adrian's expression remained impassive. "She was involved in other crimes too, so she got ten years total."
"Good. Maybe that'll teach her some manners," Audrey remarked sharply.
Earlier, Vivian had casually mentioned Cassandra during another conversation. Though she'd spoken offhandedly, Audrey's imagination had painted Cassandra as pure evil.
Vivian wasn't surprised by the sentence. With both Damien and Adrian involved, Cassandra was bound to face severe consequences. Yet Damien and Adrian usually avoided each other, and Ethan had been handling the matter. Vivian found it odd that Damien would personally visit Blackwood Group.
Frowning slightly, Vivian voiced her doubt, "Did Mr. Vaughn really come here just to tell us that?"
As the elevator doors opened on their floor, Adrian turned his piercing gaze to the receptionist, his authoritative presence undeniable. He gave her a brief nod before addressing Ethan. "Make sure she completes ten laps crawling. After that, she can submit her resignation."
Linking arms with Vivian, he moved to leave. Noticing Damien nearby, he said sharply, "Mr. Vaughn, seems you've got plenty of free time to enjoy the show?"
The receptionist burst into tears. "Mr. Blackwood, this is unfair! How can you treat a woman like this?" Ethan immediately signaled security to escort her away.
Damien gave Vivian a knowing smile. "Considering Vivian is my business partner, it's only natural I'd take interest in her affairs. Who knows? This might even become trending news."
"Appreciate your concern for my wife, Mr. Vaughn," Adrian countered, locking eyes with Damien in a half-smile.
Sensing the rising tension, Vivian tugged at Adrian's sleeve. "I'm starving. Let's go have lunch."
Audrey chimed in, "I've been waiting here two hours without eating. Mind if I join you?"
Adrian paused, thinking, "Since when did we acquire so many extra guests?"
Stepping out first, Adrian continued casually, "He also asked us to delay releasing the variety show. Said your TV series is premiering soon, and airing the show now might cause unnecessary rumors."
He paused, studying her reaction. "What do you think?"
Vivian carefully considered his words from a professional standpoint. "As a newcomer, announcing it now might make people focus more on our relationship than my performance."
"So you're suggesting we postpone the variety show and keep our marriage secret?" Adrian asked as they approached his office. The glass doors recognized his iris and slid open smoothly.
