Chapter 209
Audrey Winslow's expression turned icy. "Last I checked, Adrian has a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Since when do you give orders around here?"
Serena Whitmore stiffened at Audrey's sharp tone. Worried Audrey might reveal Vivian's true identity, Serena turned to the receptionist. "What are you waiting for? Call security and remove her immediately!"
"Right away, ma'am." The receptionist quickly signaled for security.
Serena adjusted her sunglasses with a triumphant smirk. "Let's not have a repeat of this unpleasantness," she said, swaying dramatically toward the elevator.
Security arrived within moments, but the receptionist hesitated upon noticing Audrey's expensive attire and confident demeanor. She chose her words carefully.
"Miss, please don't make this difficult for us," she said politely to Audrey. "Jobs are hard to come by these days."
Then turning to Isabella Thornton, she added, "If your friend is truly in danger, you should contact the authorities immediately."
"My apologies for the trouble," Isabella said dejectedly before turning to Audrey. "Thank you for standing up for me."
Audrey studied Isabella's face, recognition dawning. "Wait—you're Vivian's makeup artist! What are you doing here?"
Isabella's eyes lit up with hope as she recognized Audrey. "Ms. Winslow?" Finally, someone who could help! She didn't know Audrey's full name but remembered Sebastian mentioning her connection to the powerful Winslow family.
Clutching at this lifeline, Isabella pleaded, "Ms. Winslow, you have to help! It's Vivian."
Her gaze darted nervously between the security guards and receptionist before whispering urgently, "Can we talk outside?"
Audrey followed without hesitation, her brow furrowing with concern.
Once outside, Isabella blurted, "Vivian's been kidnapped!"
Audrey's eyes widened. "What?"
The younger woman who had accompanied Audrey spoke up. "I'll take my leave now." She gave Isabella a reassuring nod. "Don't worry—my lips are sealed."
After seeing her companion off, Audrey gestured toward her luxury sedan. "Get in. Tell me everything on the way."
Isabella poured out the entire story, her voice shaking with urgency. Audrey listened intently, her expression growing graver with each revelation.
At Blackwood Group Headquarters
In the CEO's office, a group of wealthy businessmen lounged on Italian leather sofas, debating their evening plans.
"How about Mirage Lounge tonight?" one suggested with a smirk.
Another chuckled darkly. "You've got nerve going back there after what happened! Taking that girl's virginity and then acting like nothing happened? Cold. Didn't she come looking for you yesterday?"
