Chapter 190

Every muscle in Vivian's body protested as she tried to move. The memories of last night's passion made her want to burrow deeper into the plush bedding. Yet Adrian moved about the room with infuriating ease, already dressed for the day.

She huffed, tossing the silk sheets aside with determination. But the moment her feet touched the cold marble floor, her knees gave way.

Adrian's strong arms caught her before she could fall, his grip firm yet gentle.

Blushing furiously, Vivian muttered, "My legs seem to have forgotten how to work..."

A smug grin played on Adrian's lips. Vivian met his arrogant expression with a mischievous spark in her emerald eyes.

"Me As Your Driver"

Forcing a haughty smile, Vivian arched an eyebrow. "Don't flatter yourself. I must be coming down with something."

Adrian let out a dry chuckle, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Your enthusiasm last night suggested otherwise."

Vivian refused to yield. "That was just the champagne talking."

The smile vanished from Adrian's face.

His sharp mind raced through every detail of their passionate night. Normally, his analytical skills left no room for doubt. But this unfamiliar territory made him question - was there truth to her words?

For the first time in his life, uncertainty clouded his judgment.

Seizing his hesitation, Vivian hobbled toward the ensuite bathroom. As the door clicked shut, flashes of their heated encounter replayed in her mind, mixing with guilt over their earlier argument.

Thirty minutes later, they descended the grand staircase in tense silence, maintaining careful distance between them.

Leonard sat at the breakfast table reading the financial times, while Beatrice greeted them with knowing eyes. Margaret was noticeably absent.

"Vivian darling," Beatrice patted the chair beside her, "come sit by me."

The matriarch didn't need confirmation to understand what had transpired between the newlyweds.

A maid appeared with a steaming bowl of herbal soup. Beatrice gestured, "Place it before Vivian. It's our family's secret recipe - excellent for restoring energy."

Vivian's cheeks flushed pink, momentarily speechless.

The implication was clear - Beatrice already anticipated a great-grandchild. Noticing Adrian's self-satisfied smirk, Vivian calmly took another bowl and slid it toward him. "You should have some too, darling. Must be exhausting being so... vigorous."

As Adrian reached for it, Vivian leaned in, whispering just loud enough for him to hear, "Natural remedies work better than relying on... temporary solutions."

Not only had she questioned his prowess, but now she'd struck at his pride.
