Chapter 472
Sebastian Winslow's eyes widened comically. I'm the one who should be terrified here!
Dominic Reeves finished cooking in record time. The aroma of garlic butter shrimp, filet mignon, sautéed asparagus, and creamy wild mushroom soup filled the air. A decadent chocolate mousse waited in the fridge, making Sebastian's stomach growl with envy.
He had shamelessly lingered this long—no way was he leaving without tasting the feast. Grabbing plates, he set the table with exaggerated helpfulness, already reaching for a fork when Dominic smacked his hand away. "I told you, this isn't yours."
"There's enough here to feed an army! You two can't possibly finish it all," Sebastian argued, undeterred. "Wasting food is a sin. Consider me your personal garbage disposal." He lunged for the steak.
"Not happening." Dominic blocked him effortlessly, swatting him aside like an annoying insect.
Sebastian's greatest talent? Sheer audacity. They wrestled over the platter until he triumphantly speared a slice of beef—
"Dominic, my car's acting up again." A melodic voice floated down the staircase. "Could you have Harrison take it to the shop tomorrow?"
"Take mine," Dominic replied without hesitation.
Evelyn Carter descended with lazy grace, damp hair curling at her shoulders. "No thanks. Your car screams arrogant billionaire. I'll call a cab."
Dominic intercepted her with a towel, draping it over her head. "Let Harrison drive you. Cabs are unreliable." His fingers gently scrunched her hair. "You never dry it properly."
"Too much effort." She flicked the strands aside—then froze, noticing Sebastian mid-bite, gaping at her. Her nose wrinkled. "Why is he still here?"
Sebastian's soul left his body.
One moment, he was dazzled by this ethereal vision; the next, her blunt dismissal shattered the illusion. He, the charming socialite who charmed everyone effortlessly, had been reduced to an unwelcome pest. Worse? Dominic actually nodded. "You're right. I'll kick him out."
Listen to this betrayal! Sebastian internally wailed. Since when does Dominic take orders?
Salvation came when Evelyn sighed. "Let him stay. He's your... acquaintance."
Bless her angelic heart.
Dominic's lip curled. "He's not. And he'll inhale half the food. You'll go hungry."
Sebastian choked. A glutton?! The table groaned under enough dishes to cater a wedding. "I eat like a bird!" he lied, pressing a hand to his heart. "Besides, gazing upon such radiance is nourishment enough. Who needs steak when beauty like this exists?" He shot Evelyn a smoldering look, eyelashes fluttering.
