Chapter 147

Evelyn smiled nonchalantly. "So, who is it from Celestia Group then?"

Victoria sighed. "What do you mean by who? It's all just a misunderstanding. I'm not sure why Mr. Preston insists on keeping you here, but I know it's not merely because of your connections or luck. You have the potential to be a great perfumer."

This was the greatest affirmation for Evelyn. "Thanks. I'm glad you think so."

"Hey, stop flattering me! Didn't you say you wanted to sleep? Go ahead, but don't sleep for too long." Victoria glanced at her watch. "We need to arrive at the site earlier."

"The site?" Evelyn repeated, then quickly understood. Silverpine Valley had the perfect climate for flowers and plants to thrive. There were countless parterres, including experimental plots for grafting new breeds. After all, perfumers often drew inspiration from nature. Each plant was a treasure, unique in its own way. Through refinement, purification, and blending with other fragrances, a perfumer could craft something extraordinary.

"I'm not sleepy anymore. Let's go now." Evelyn checked the time. "I'll shower and change. We can leave right after."

"Aren't you tired?" Victoria asked, watching Evelyn head to the bathroom.

"It's fine. I managed to rest a little earlier." The moment the words left her mouth, Evelyn realized her phrasing was off. Sure enough, Victoria gave her a knowing look when she turned back.

Whatever. The more I explain, the more suspicious she’ll get. Better to say nothing.

Soon, Evelyn emerged from the shower. Victoria had already packed up and was waiting. "Let’s head downstairs for breakfast. The hotel serves a buffet, and it should be ready by now."

Just as they were about to leave, the doorbell rang.

"Who is it?" Victoria called out, staying by the door without opening it.

"Room service. My apologies for the disturbance, ma'am. I’ve brought breakfast for you." A polite voice filtered through the door.

Victoria glanced back at Evelyn in confusion before opening it. A waiter stood there with a dining cart. "Good morning. Breakfast is served."

"The hotel has a buffet, doesn’t it? Does this cost extra?" Victoria asked, mentally calculating their expense report for the trip.

"Your room rate includes this service. The buffet is available in the restaurant if you prefer." The waiter arranged the dishes on the table, then set out the cutlery. "Enjoy your meal."

The spread on the table left Victoria speechless. Why would I go downstairs when this is here? The selection was lavish—far beyond the standard buffet. There was enough food for four people.

"This hotel’s service is incredible! I’ll definitely book here again." Victoria sat down, motioning for Evelyn to join her. "Stop standing there. Sit and eat!"

She beamed, clearly pleased with the trip. "Let me tell you—I’ve been on countless business trips, and I’ve never been treated like this. The company really supports us, so we better make this trip worthwhile. If we can find even a little inspiration, it’ll be a success."

Evelyn knew someone must have arranged this. Again.
